Question;
I can find and see a leak in an underground water pipe using the icam-2000.
Can I use my above ground locating device ( which I already own ) to detect where the camera and leak is ?
Answer;
Yes the icam-1000 and the icam-2000 will help you see the problem in a pipe.
When you see the problem then you can mark the fiberglass push-pull cable
with a wrap of tape. This will be our measure of the distance to the problem.
Reel in the camera and remove the camera by unscrewing it from the fiberglass cable.
Replace the camera with the Sonde Transmitter by screwing it onto the fiberglass cable.
Put the Sonde into the pipe and unreel the fiber glass cable up to your tape mark on the fiberglass cable.
This will position the Sonde Transmitter in the same place as the leak.
Now you can use your locating device to pinpoint the area directly above the leak.
Please see the Pictorial diagram below.

This sonde transmitter works directly with our icam-1000 and the icam-2000
portable cable reel systems by screwing directly onto the fiberglass cable.
